Subject: Praise For All At Gainey Suites
Hi Rich -
Again, I hoped to have caught up with you on property Monday morning, but you were busy doing what all upper management in the hospitality industry must many times do -- roll up your sleeves with your team to take care of guests' immediate needs. ...in this case, getting the breakfast buffet 'on the table.'
As I mentioned, I view business through a marketing lens. It was clear that you and your team were 'keeping the promise' Gainey Suites promotes -- truly what a service business is all about. My career started in marketing with McDonald's Restaurants, which is not only in the business of hamburgers & French fries, but also in the hospitality business. I also had clients in hospitality and other service industries, so I feel I have perspective.
As to our weekend celebration at the hotel: You and your team provided exceptional customer service to my 50+ guests from coast to coast and from overseas. From the front of the house -- reservations and front desk -- to the back end -- food & beverage, those in housekeeping & those who keep your property looking like Disneyland...everyone was terrific. Those I personally met - Lisa, Olivia, Nick, Crystal, Enrique, Chef Fernando -- and previously, Jennifer.
I was particularly impressed with the way Tracy Johnson represents your property. She understands the needs of group sales from 'the social' market. She met my needs with easy-to-use group room reservations procedures, and she assisted me in filling a gap in our weekend with the hotel's Labor Day BBQ event. You need to know that she made it a win-win for me as a host, but kept the hotel's bottom line in check.
As well, you personally 'took my sox off' when you offered to email me photos of handicap configurations in various room types, so I could make a good decision for my mother's needs.
In making my choice of properties, a couple of things that tipped the scales:
- Your concept: You provide value in an intimate environment, full of amenities, that make guests feel 'at home,' yet also 'away from home' in a suites concept, with the feel of a boutique resort.
- I knew you were different. The fact that you are an independent property, born out of the original Doubletree concept and run like a family bed & breakfast all impressed me. ...far different from your head to head competition, the Marriott Courtyards and the Hilton Garden Inns of the world.
One note: On Monday afternoon, I saw members of your team as they prepared to go out to the Diamondback's game. There was an obvious feeling of family, an intrinsic benefit you provide them - well beyond wages & benefits.
Please contact me, as I'd be happy to be a quote source in promotional materials, in sales packets, on your website, etc.

The last of my relatives departed today and I just wanted to tell you that they had a wonderful time staying at the Gainey Suites. They had nothing but praise for the entire three days--from start to finish.
And thank you so very much for upgrading all of their rooms. That was a wonderful and unexpected surprise and truly enhanced everyone's stay.

Our recent visit (March 15-23, 2009) was a most positive experience. Gainey Suites is a well-managed and appointed facility. The location affords maximum access to Scottsdale and surrounding points of interest. Out stay was made comfortable by a well-prepared breakfast each day and the happy-hour was most pleasant and appropriate. Gainey Suites is served by a courteous and professional staff that makes one feel that this is a home-away from home. Our pleasure was to be part of this scene and we will not only be there again, but we will also recommend Gainey Suites to our friends.

The Gainey Suites is not a resort.....nor is it a 5 star hotel. But, if you're looking for a warm, welcoming, homelike atmosphere with a wonderful staff that will greet you by name when you come and go......this is the place to stay. I just spent 9 nights at G.S. while I was in the final planning stages of my daughter's wedding and I can't express how friendly, helpful, PATIENT and gracious the entire staff was. In addition to the wonderful staff, the property is cozy, clean and VERY comfortable. Don't be fooled by the relatively unimpressive exterior. Inside is where it's all happening!! You will immediately feel the warmth and coziness of the staff and the hotel the minute you walk thru the doors. I was there in February, so I was immediately struck with the glowing fireplace, the welcoming furnishings and the basket of chocolate chip cookies at the front desk. Look past the front lobby and you will be pleased with yet another fireplace in the Hearth Room, which is where they serve a more than adequate breakfast buffet in the morning and a lovely cocktail hour from 5-7 pm. The rooms are well appointed with nice, fully equipped kitchens, flat screen TVs and very comfortable beds with down comforters and pillows. There is a very attractive patio area off the Hearth Room and a lovely pool area with comfortable lounge chairs, tables and umbrellas. The hotel is also situated directly next to the Gainey Village with restaurants and boutique shopping, as well as the Gainey Spa and Fitness Center where you can enjoy a Spa day. I hosted a brunch on the patio for approx. 60 people on the sunday morning after my daughter's wedding that was flawless. The food stations, the table settings and the staff were all outstanding. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a comfortable, relaxing and friendly atmosphere with impeccable service.

The Gainey Suites Hotel is simply a great place to stay. Great food, wonderfully attentive staff and a beautiful atmosphere. Lots of great dining places around the hotel as well. Minutes from old town Scottsdale.

We live about a mile from this hotel and always book our out of town guests to stay there because it has a great location and is a beautiful hotel. It is surrounded by lots of restaurants and shopping. The staff is always friendly and the rate is really a great deal! We enjoy our visits there and have overnighted with family there and loved it. I highly recommend it!

Work conference sent me to the deserts of Arizona, or what my pal Natalie G. likes to call a microwave oven. We headed over to this very relaxing hotel in the middle of nowhere this week. I personally had a fantastic time here. I don't know if it was the whole atmosphere itself but the hotel had a huge rack of decent amenities. Maybe I'm use to paying city prices of 300+ with not much more than an ice box of a room. But this room was huge including a kitchen, living room, bedroom and two flat screen tvs. The pool was open pretty much all day and all night too. The free happy hour and breakfast was lovely and the whole hotel made me feel very relaxed and comfortable. Had a great 'vacation'! I mean work trip....
